Beta draft: this page describes how PetSitto works during the beta. It is not final legal advice and will be reviewed by a lawyer before public launch.
1. Account data
Your name, email address, chosen role (pet parent or carer), sign-in details, the date you joined, and when you accepted the Terms of Use and which version.
2. Pet Care Passport information
What you add to a Pet Care Passport: name, photo, type, age, weight, temperament, routines, health and medication needs, triggers and must-haves. Carers who are signed in can view passports to judge compatibility. Emergency contacts, vet details and extra handbook notes are visible only to you and a carer with a confirmed booking.
3. Carer profile information
Name, photos, experience, home and household details (including resident pets), services, availability and prices.
4. Approximate location
We never store or show your exact address. We store an area name and coordinates rounded to about 1 km. Other users only see the area and an approximate distance.
5. Private messages
Messages are visible only to the two people in the conversation. We may review messages that are reported to us for safety reasons.
6. Requests and care history
Meet & Greets, care requests, their dates, status and price notes, check-ins and photos shared during a booking, reviews, plus your private Trusted Care Circle notes.
7. Reports and blocking
When you report or block someone we store who made the report, who was reported, the reason, optional comment and, for message reports, which message. The reported or blocked person is not told who did it.
8. Email notifications
We use your email address to send account emails and activity notifications (new messages and request updates). You can turn activity emails off in Settings.
9. Browser storage
We do not use advertising or tracking cookies. We use your browser's local storage and session storage for things the site needs to work: keeping you signed in, remembering your selected pet, your chosen care dates, your sign-up choice during Google sign-in, and your privacy choice and website language. If you accept analytics, we also store a random visitor ID (local storage) and a random session ID (session storage).
10. Optional page analytics
Only if you choose "Accept analytics", we record anonymous page visits on our own system: the page path (with record IDs removed), device type (mobile, tablet or desktop), the random visitor and session IDs, and the time. We do not record your IP address, account or browser fingerprint, and we respect "Do Not Track". You can change your choice at any time via "Privacy settings" in the footer; choosing "Only necessary" stops tracking and removes the IDs.
11. Third-party services
Fonts: our site fonts are hosted with the site, so loading them does not contact Google Fonts. Google sign-in: if you choose it, Google shares your name and email with us. Google Places: address and vet searches are sent from our server to Google to find areas and clinics. Stripe: optional Support links on the About page open Stripe's own payment pages; we never receive your card details. Hosting: the site and its data are hosted by cloud hosting and database providers that process data on our behalf, and may keep standard technical server logs.
12. Your rights
Under the GDPR you can ask to access, correct, delete or export your data, object to or restrict certain processing, and withdraw consent at any time. You can delete your account at any time in Settings → Delete account, which removes your profile, pets, carer profile, photos, conversations and requests. We only keep data we are legally required to keep. You can also complain to the Swedish Authority for Privacy Protection (IMY).
