Every pet deserves the right human.

For a long time, I have had a dream of creating something of my own. Not just a business for the sake of having one, but a product that could be useful, meaningful, and hopefully make life a little easier for people.

PetSitto is still at the beginning of that journey. It is an idea I am exploring, building, testing, and learning from. I do not know exactly where it will lead yet, but I know why I wanted to start.

That reason is very personal.

My dog, Peppi, means the world to us. We love him enormously. He is kind, affectionate, and very much part of our family. But he is also extremely shy and easily frightened.

Travelling, unfamiliar places, and new people can make him very nervous. We have tried many times to help him become more comfortable outside his usual environment, but over time we have realised that this is simply part of his personality.

And we want to respect that.

Of course, we would love to take him everywhere with us. But sometimes travelling would create more stress for him than enjoyment, and we do not want to put him through that just because it would be more convenient for us.

That creates another challenge:

Who can we trust to look after him?

For Peppi, finding someone who is simply available is not enough. We need someone patient. Someone calm. Someone who understands anxious dogs. Someone who will give him the space and time he needs to feel safe.

Finding that person can be surprisingly difficult.

PetSitto is based on a simple thought: finding pet care should be about finding the right person for the pet, not just someone nearby who is available.

Every pet is different. Some are social and confident. Others are nervous, independent, energetic, sensitive, or very attached to their routines. The person who is perfect for one pet may not be right for another.

My idea for PetSitto is to help make those differences easier to understand. A pet owner could describe their pet’s personality, routines, needs, fears and preferences. A carer could explain their experience, lifestyle, home environment and way of caring for animals.

And PetSitto could help both sides understand whether the match really feels right.

Not just: “Are they available?”

But: “Would I genuinely feel comfortable leaving my pet with this person?”

PetSitto is not a finished story. It is something I am building because I would love to see whether this idea can become something real.

Maybe it stays small. Maybe it grows into something much bigger.

Right now, the goal is simply to create something useful, listen to people who love their pets as much as we love Peppi, and see where the journey goes.

If PetSitto can eventually help even a few people feel more confident about who they leave their pet with, that would already mean a lot. And if one day it becomes the software product I have dreamed of creating, even better.
